Research statement
Dynamic changes in internal representation of external goals affects behavioural state in mammalian systems. These are intrinsically linked, and exert influence upon each other in ways that facilitates study of neural computation. My research involves the use of optogenetic methods to perturb circuits involved in phylogenetically prescribed behaviour. Using in vivo electrophysiology, as well as multidimensional behavioural readouts, I hope to understand internally driven perceptual dynamics.
